The theme of this year’s survey, SA Inc., Growth, Competitivness and the Africa Question identifies and addresses many of the issues we face today as we move forward into the world as an emerging market, a member of BRICS and a key player in the Africa of the future.
Supplychainforesight 2011 focuses on critical issues that organizations must consider if they want to succeed in this turbulent economy.
Supplychainforesight 2010 continues many years of authoritative research into the Southern African supply chain market.
Last year’s research focused on the approach of and lessons to be learned from those companies that were earning competitive advantage from their supply chains in a global context of economic growth and market diversity. However, the macro-economic situation in which the research takes place this year could not be more different.
The Supplychainforesight report for 2008 seeks to demonstrate clearly and decisively what we have been arguing for five years now: that there is a significant correlation between supply chain reform and business success on many fronts, including both growth and profitability.

The Supplychainforesight report is now in its fourth year of publication and continues to be an authoritative source of strategic information about the evolution of South Africa’s supply chains. Last year’s report began a focus on two key issues: the challenges presented by globalisation to SA supply chains, and the degree to which respondent companies were using modern, integrated supply chain strategies to drive competitive advantage.
In comparison to last year’s major findings, we were again able to refine the terms of the investigation to elicit attitudes and thinking about business issues in specific industries in which the supply chain plays crucial role to the continued success – or- failure – of the business.
Last year’s inaugural Supplychainforesight report was disseminated to many thousands of SA’s top executives through a series of well attracted public events, where the issues raised by the research were vigorously debated.
The inaugural Supply Chain Foresight research report, concluded in the last quarter of 2003 is an independent study of the trends and factors influencing logistics and supply chain operations in South Africa.
